As we enter the colder months, we wanted to take some time to reflect on an amazing summer at Coda Pharmacy. Let’s take a look back at some of the highlights that made this summer so special and gave us even more opportunities to connect with our community.
Summer 2026 was filled with community health and wellness events, the launch of our Coda Walk & Talk initiative and lots of special visits along the way.
Camper Marmalade
The summer began with a weekend supporting the much loved Camper Marmalade, a local festival celebrating the music of the 80s. We had our very own health stand at the event, where we offered health advice, quick blood pressure checks and fresh fruit to help everyone keep their energy levels up. Our team loved being part of such a brilliant event and helping everyone enjoy themselves while staying safe and healthy.

Eastbourne Community Awards
Shortly after, we hosted our Eastbourne Community Awards 2026 in collaboration with our friends at Bournefree Magazine. We brought together some of the most inspiring people from across Eastbourne for an evening dedicated to celebrating the individuals, charities and community groups that make our town such a special place to live.
The event took place at the fantastic Glass House on Eastbourne seafront, who put together a lovely two course meal for all of our guests. We were also lucky enough to have the amazing Ryan Milns from Ashdown Radio presenting the awards.
We were honoured to be joined by Eastbourne MP Josh Babarinde OBE, Eastbourne Mayor Margaret Bannister, and Polegate Mayor Stephen Shing, who attended alongside Deputy Polegate Mayor Dan Dunbar.
The evening also helped raise vital funds for two amazing local charities, St Wilfrid’s Hospice and SASBAH. It was such a special evening and we can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Coda Walk & Talk
July began with our very first Coda Walk & Talk. What started as a small walk along the seafront has now grown into a successful monthly event, with almost 50 regular members joining us!
Our first walk took us along Eastbourne seafront, where we enjoyed a gentle 4k stroll to Bistro Pierre for some refreshments before heading back. Hosted by our Coda team members Molly and Minnie, the walks have been a brilliant way to get people moving, meet new people and spend some time together outdoors.
Molly and Minnie have loved putting the walks together throughout the summer and finding new ways to keep them fun and exciting. We recently invited the Beachy Head Ambassadors to give a talk during our walk around Beachy Head, and we have even started our own rewards scheme with local businesses to encourage more people to get out and walking.
We’re really excited to continue our Coda Walk & Talks throughout the winter. If you’d like to find out more, you can join our Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/4541151566211960/

Coda’s Fourth Community Health & Wellness Day
Next up was our Community Health & Wellness Day in partnership with Eastbourne Borough FC. We hosted a free health day at the grounds and invited some fantastic local businesses to come along and share their healthcare advice with the community. We also offered free blood pressure checks and pharmacy advice throughout the day.
Our next health day is already coming up. This time, we’re hosting a Halloween Special at Grosvenor Park Care Home, alongside some great local businesses, with the aim of making healthcare as accessible as possible for our community.
The Details:
Location: Grosvenor Park
Time: 10:00 – 14:00
What to expect: Free blood pressure checks, expert pharmacy advice, and family-friendly Halloween fun! We will be joined by a series of healthcare experts offering their services too.

Coda’s Community Huddle
Our Community Lead, Kim, started the first of many Coda Community Huddles this summer. These give members of our community a space to come together and share ideas about how we can continue supporting our local area through new initiatives and projects. Our next Coda Community Huddle will be taking place this November and we’re looking forward to seeing what comes from it.

Coda’s Hydration Station at St Wilfrids Hospice Starlight Stroll
We finished the summer with our annual Hydration Station at the St Wilfrid’s Hospice Starlight Stroll. It was such a special evening at a wonderful event, and we were really pleased to be able to support everyone taking part by providing free bottles of water.
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part. St Wilfrid’s has announced that more than £70,000 has been raised so far, with even more still to come. It’s fantastic to see the community come together to support such an important local charity.

Special Moments
Our founder Chris and Colin were thrilled to attend Polegate Town FC’s Annual Golf Day, helping to support the club and raise funds.

We were very grateful to appear on both Ashdown Radio and Radio DGH this summer to talk about our work within the community. We can’t thank both teams enough for having us on air and giving us the opportunity to talk about the work we’re doing here at Coda Pharmacy.

We had a few special visits at our Coda Hub with some amazing local businesses to explore more ways we can work together and continue to support our community. It was great to have a visit from former Eastbourne MP Stephen Lloyd and more recently Bexhill and Battle MP Dr Kieran Mullan.
