Putting Our Community First
At Coda Pharmacy, our community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why, on 14th March, we were proud to host our third Community Health & Wellness Event.
Looking back at where we started, it’s incredible to see how far the event has come. The continued support and positive feedback from our community have allowed us to grow it into something even bigger and more impactful each time.
This year, our event took place at The Gather, inside The Beacon Shopping Centre, where we brought together a fantastic group of local healthcare professionals. Together, we created a welcoming space focused on free, accessible healthcare for all.
We were joined by:
- Beatty Dental offering dental advice
- Alice Chen offering MSK support
- Sussex Footcare offering footcare advice and checks
- Lynne Matthews and Tricia offering nutritional advice
- Lushington Chiropractic offering chiropractic advice and posture tests
- St John Ambulance offering first aid advice
- Walfinch Eastbourne offering care advice
Focusing on Prevention
Preventative health is a key focus for us at Coda Pharmacy. At this event, we placed particular emphasis on blood pressure checks, highlighting the importance of detecting high blood pressure early. Alongside this, our pharmacists were on hand throughout the day to offer advice and answer any questions, ensuring everyone felt supported and informed.
Making Healthcare More Accessible
This focus on prevention goes hand in hand with our wider mission to make healthcare more accessible. At a time when it can be difficult to secure a GP appointment, we wanted to show how readily available expert support can be. By bringing this support into the community through events like this, we hope to raise awareness that trusted healthcare is there when people need it.
On the day, we carried out a record number of blood pressure checks and had the opportunity to speak with many members of our Eastbourne community about their health concerns. It was great to see so many people taking a proactive approach to their wellbeing.
What Our Community Said
One of our attendees, Tenzin, shared how valuable he found the event, highlighting how easy it was to access support and ask questions in a relaxed environment. Feedback like this is exactly why we continue to run these events.
Tenzin said: “Coda approached me and they were lovely people, I think they are a family business and they were so easy to talk to so I was able to express myself really easily.”
We also had the opportunity to chat with Alexis who shared her experience at our event with us. Alexis said: “I have been using Coda Pharmacy for almost three years now, getting my medication delivered while I was at uni and at home, it comes so quickly. It is so nice to see them out in the community, it is a really amazing company and I am so pleased to be part of the community.”
As an online pharmacy, events like this allow us to connect with our community face-to-face, while also raising awareness of the ongoing support we provide remotely. Whether in person or online, our aim is to make accessing healthcare as simple and convenient as possible.
Thank you
We’d like to say a big thank you to all the healthcare professionals who joined us, as well as everyone who came along on the day. Your support is what makes these events possible.
