Eastbourne MP Josh Babarinde OBE Visits Coda Pharmacy Hub

We had a lovely day at Coda Pharmacy welcoming Eastbourne’s MP, Josh Babarinde OBE, to the pharmacy.

It was a great opportunity to sit down, have a chat and talk about some of the health needs we’re seeing across Eastbourne and the surrounding area. As a local pharmacy, we see every day how important accessible healthcare is for the people in our community, so it was great to have the chance to share some of our experiences and hear more about the work being done locally.

One of the highlights of the visit was discovering a rather special local connection. Josh, Chris and Colin all grew up just a few streets apart from each other. It was one of those moments that reminded us just how connected our local community really is. What started as a visit to the pharmacy quickly turned into a conversation about growing up in the same area and how much Eastbourne has changed over the years.

We also spoke about some of the wider challenges facing healthcare across the country and how these can have a real impact on local communities. From our perspective, pharmacies have an important role to play in making healthcare easier to access, particularly for people who may need advice or support without having to wait for a GP appointment.

It was reassuring to find common ground on a number of projects that are already underway, as well as discuss some of the ways we can continue to support local people. We’re always keen to work with other organisations and individuals who share our passion for improving health and wellbeing in the community, so it was great to have the opportunity to talk openly about where we can work together.

During his visit, Josh also took the opportunity to have one of our health checks. This gave us a chance to show him first hand some of the services we provide at Coda Pharmacy and how simple it can be for people to access support within their local pharmacy.

We’re big believers in making healthcare as accessible as possible, and health checks are just one of the ways we can help people keep an eye on their health. Having Josh take part also gave us a chance to talk through how these services work and why they can be such a useful part of the wider healthcare system.

It was a really positive and practical visit, with plenty of conversation around the health of our local community and what we can continue doing to support the people who live here.

At Coda Pharmacy, we’re proud to be part of the Eastbourne community and we’re always looking for new ways to make a difference locally. We know that improving health and wellbeing is something that takes collaboration, and we’re looking forward to continuing conversations with people and organisations across the area.

A huge thank you to Josh for taking the time to visit us at Coda Pharmacy. We really enjoyed having him with us, and we’re looking forward to exploring more ways we can work together and support our local community in the future.
