Today marks three incredible years of Coda Pharmacy, and how lucky are we!
When our founders, Colin and Chris, set up Coda Pharmacy three years ago, they were inspired by one clear mission: to make healthcare truly accessible. By introducing free home delivery for NHS prescriptions ordered easily online, they wanted to make managing daily health as effortless as possible for our local community.
Looking back on the last three years, Coda Pharmacy has grown into so much more than just an online pharmacy. We’ve stepped out into the community, built lasting partnerships, and created spaces where health and wellbeing are within everyone’s reach.
Here’s a look back at everything that has made three years so special…
Our First 2 Years
Our first two years were spent at our original hub on Westham Business Park, where our team first got started. During that time, we focused on getting out into the community. We held our first Health & Wellness Day at our local Morrisons, to make simple health checks accessible to everyone, an initiative that has now reached its fourth event!
We spent time connecting with our local charities and organisations through our Charity of the Month campaigns. Each month we would visit a local charity and spotlight their services on our social media channels. This initiative was developed to not only help support our local charities and spotlight their incredible work but also showcase to our community the help that is out there for them.
We were lucky to get to work with SASBAH, Inspire Sussex, The Old Bank, Wolo Foundation, Beachy Head Chaplaincy, Street Pastors, Defiant Sports, Age Concern, Eastbourne Food Bank and so many more!
As Coda continued to grow here we started to create more services for our community, including Pharmacy First services, an online pharmacy shop and safe, NHS regulated services such as weight loss, hair loss and sexual health support.
Our New Coda Hub
In our second year, we moved into a new premises on the same business park, just a little bit bigger! The extra space allowed us to grow our services and do more for the local area through events and initiatives.
We opened our new doors by hosting a Community Health and Wellness Day to raise funds for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. We had a range of health stands, an ice-cream van and a burger van available for our community. We were honoured to get the opportunity to show everyone around and were so grateful for the support from everyone who came along.
Eastbourne Community Awards
This year,we were so proud to host our very first Eastbourne Community Awards, and what a night it was! Working alongside our friends at Bournefree Magazine, we brought together some of the most inspiring people from across Eastbourne for an evening dedicated to celebrating the individuals, charities and community groups that make our town such a special place to live.
The awards were created as our way of giving something back to the community. Every day, there are people across Eastbourne volunteering their time, supporting others, raising money for good causes and making a huge difference to the lives of those around them. Too often, these efforts go unnoticed, so we wanted to create an event that really celebrated those unsung heroes.
All proceeds from the night went to two incredible charities very close to all of our hearts here at Coda Pharmacy and Bournefree Magazine, SASBAH and St Wilfrids Hospice.
We have already started preparing for next year!
Coda Transform Club & Coda Walk & Talks
As our healthcare services expanded, we created the Coda Transform Club, an online space where anyone on a weight management journey can find support, practical nutrition advice, and encouragement.
As this developed, we introduced our monthly Coda Walk & Talks. What started as a small initiative to encourage gentle exercise and connection for our Transform Club quickly grew, and thanks to an amazing response, we’ve now opened these walks up to our whole community. Everyone is welcome!
