At Coda Pharmacy, we recently had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from Little Gate Farm College to the Coda Hub for a special behind-the-scenes visit.
Supporting Opportunities for Everyone
Little Gate Farm does incredible work supporting people with learning disabilities and autism into paid employment. Their mission focuses on helping students develop practical skills, confidence, and real-world experience so they can move into meaningful jobs.
As a community-focused pharmacy, we’re always looking for ways to support initiatives like this. Creating opportunities and opening doors for people in our local community is something we care deeply about.
A Glimpse into Life at an Online Pharmacy
During their visit, eight students from Little Gate Farm College got to see what working life can look like in an online pharmacy.
They explored different areas of the business and learned how we combine healthcare expertise with digital innovation to support our patients. From the operational side of the pharmacy to the creative side of the business, the group got a real feel for how everything works together behind the scenes.
Stepping into the World of Social Media
One of the highlights of the visit was introducing the students to our social media and content creation process.
They got to see the camera equipment we use for filming and photography, learn a little about how we create content, and even take part in editing a photo themselves by choosing the final filter. It was great to see everyone getting involved and sharing their ideas.
A Hands-On Pharmacy Activity
To give the students a taste of pharmacy practice, we also organised a fun hands-on activity.
Using sweets instead of medication, the group helped assemble blister packs. It was a safe and engaging way to demonstrate how pharmacists organise and prepare medication for patients, while also giving everyone the chance to try something new.
A Day We’ll Remember
Supporting our local community and encouraging learning opportunities is a big part of who we are at Coda Pharmacy. Our team thoroughly enjoyed meeting the students, sharing what we do, and seeing their enthusiasm throughout the day.
We’re looking forward to continuing our relationship with Little Gate Farm and exploring more ways we can support the organisation and its students in the future.
