Do you ever feel like your evenings could be put to better use? Maybe you’d love to meet new people, get a bit more active, or just need that little extra motivation to head out for a walk.
That’s exactly why we’re launching Coda’s Walk & Talk, a friendly walking group where you can enjoy some fresh air, conversation, and gentle exercise, all while connecting with others in our community.
Join us at our next walk
We’re excited to welcome you to our Coda Walk & Talk on Thursday, 2nd July 2026.
Join us for a relaxed 4km walk along the beautiful Eastbourne seafront, starting from Holywell Beach at 6:30pm. Whether you’re looking to get more active, meet new people, or simply enjoy some fresh sea air, everyone is welcome.
During our walk, we’ll stop at Bistro Pierre for refreshments, where our pharmacists will host an informal health talk followed by a Q&A session. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about your health and wellbeing, and connect with others in a friendly, relaxed setting.
We’ll then make our way back to Holywell together to finish the evening.

Walking is one of the easiest ways to get active because you can do it almost anywhere and you do not need any special equipment or experience to get started! Even a short walk can make a big difference to your health and wellbeing.
How much walking should you do a day?
The NHS recommends adults aim for around 150 minutes of moderate exercise each week and walking is a great way to work towards this! That could simply be a 20 to 30 minute walk each day.
How to get started
If you have not exercised in a while, start small and go at your own pace! A short walk around the block or even getting off the bus one stop earlier can be a great first step. You do not need to do long walks straight away and it is completely fine to take breaks when you need to. The most important thing is simply getting moving and building your confidence gradually. Over time, those small walks can start to feel much easier and you may even notice improvements in your energy, your mood and fitness levels!
Walking can also be much more enjoyable when you do it with others! Try walking with friends or family, listening to your favourite music or podcast. Some people enjoy walking in the morning to start the day feeling refreshed, while others prefer an evening walk to unwind after work. You could even set yourself small goals to stay motivated, like walking a little further each week.
How to stay motivated
- Set small weekly goals
- Track steps on a phone or watch
- Walk with a routine time each day
- Join group activities like your pharmacy walks
Remember…
- Wear comfortable shoes
- Stay hydrated
- Be mindful of weather (sun or rain)
- Start slow if you feel unwell or have concerns
Frequently asked questions
Do I need any special equipment to start walking?

Can walking really help with weight loss?
Yes, walking can support weight loss when combined with a healthy diet and lifestyle. It helps burn calories, improves fitness, and is easier to maintain regularly compared to many other forms of exercise.
